What other way to start a blog than with the fastest available?!?
Since the Bugatti Veyron's 253 mph (1,001 hp) was drifted out by the SSC Ultimate Aero TT's 256 mph (1,287 hp), they were forced to build the Super Sport - 1,200 hp delivering a top speed of 268 mph. To accomplish this, they completed modifications which increased the power while allowing for a beautifully dexterous ride. The 16-cylinder engine is completed with four enlarged turbochargers and larger intercoolers. To provide safety at top speeds, the chassis was completely redesigned. New shock absorbers, stronger Anti-Roll-bars, and a slightly raised main-spring-rate allow for more control of the vehicle.
To improve aerodynamic efficiency, Bugatti managed to actually reduce the weight by a new structure of all-carbon monocoque. This allows for maximum torsion rigidity, as well as passive safety. A centrally arranged exhaust system and double diffuser make the revised back of the Super Sport appear extravagant than before.
I just hope that someday I would be honored enough to be passed by one of these on the road! Although it would probably be a blur, and I would never even know it was the Super Sport. For some videos that will make you drool, check out the following links:
